Children's Eye care
80% of children's learning is visual.
- Like the dentist children should have their eyes checked regularly every 6 - 12 months
- It is never too early to start as they do not have to be able to read or recognise letters, we can test babies from 6 months.
- We recommend all children should be tested before going to school as they are not screened anymore by the school nurse.
Problems such as squints or lazy eyes need to be recognised from an early age and treated before they become permanent.
"Children's eye tests are free whilst they are in full time education and under 19 and if they need glasses a voucher is issued towards the cost of them."
WE OFFER A SELECTION OF FREE FRAMES WITH AN NHS VOUCHER OR FOR A LITTLE EXTRA COST WHY NOT TAKE A LOOK AT FRAMES SUCH AS EYE STUFF, STAR WARS AND CONVERSE FOR KIDS.
WE ARE PLEASED TO BE ONE OF THE FEW OPTICIANS IN LEICESTERSHIRE TO STOCK THE MIRAFLEX RANGE OF FRAMES FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS
Recommended by hospitals and orthoptists, they have been designed for babies and children aged from approx 3 month to 8 years. They are manufactured from a unique lightweight and flexible plastic material to permit excellent wearing comfort and optimum adjustment, with no metal parts and hinge-free temples, drastically reducing the risk of facial and eye trauma. The nose bridge is anatomically designed to distribute the weight of the frame and lenses across a larger surface to further increase wearing comfort.
A special adjustable and electronically welded head band keeps the frame snugly in place to improve optical correction and occlusion treatment. Great for babies and toddlers engaging in play and sports activities.
The Flexible & Safe collection consists of 11 models and is available in more than 20 colours. Frames are supplied with a headband and case.
"We have recently supplied a Miraflex frame to a little boy who came to us from the other side of Leicester (52 mile round trip) and a little boy from Leicester City."
